SEOUL
TYPO SAFARI

Sandoll SAISIOT TRIP is a special program that adds one
more day after the two-day SAISIOT conference.

Not by listening, but by walking. Not in a lecture hall, but on the streets of Seoul — where you meet typography and design firsthand.
From wall markings and packaging to old print shop signs, you walk through the traces of letters this city has carried, interpreting and recording them as you go.

Program

Record what you find through each location's dedicated method — lettering, photography, or drawing.

  • Lettering Brand Identity

    LETTERING
    IN SEONGSU

Seongsu is home to a vibrant mix of brand showrooms and retail spaces, offering a glimpse into today's brand culture and creative landscape. Typography appears throughout the neighborhood — from freestanding signs and window graphics to façade signage — shaping the visual identity of each space. Observe and sketch the letters you encounter on the street, discovering how typography defines the character of a place.

    LEADER

    Doyeon Kim

A graphic designer specializing in Korean lettering. From Netflix and SBS to Adidas, he has worked across brands, turning letters into something you see — not just read. He walks with you through Seongsu's brand signs and spaces with that same eye.

  • Photography Print Heritage

    PHOTOGRAPHY
    IN EULJIRO

Euljiro is a neighborhood where historic print shops and metal workshops coexist with emerging brands and creative spaces, creating a seamless dialogue between the past and the present.
Photograph the enamel signs, letterpress type, and newly introduced brand signage found throughout its alleyways. Capture the light, textures, and surrounding environment to document Euljiro's layered history and distinctive urban atmosphere.

    LEADER

    (NO-NAME)
    PRESS

A design studio and independent publisher with deep expertise in typography, known for diverse place-based projects. Their methodology of documenting and interpreting cities makes them the team best equipped to read the typography of Euljiro.

  • Drawing Local Identity

    DRAWING
    IN SEOCHON

An illustrator who brings people together through travel sketching. From Monet's Garden and Casa Milà to the National Museum of Korea, Bari shares the joy of recording moments rather than pursuing perfect drawings.

    LEADER

    Bari인스타그램

An illustrator who draws while traveling and brings people together through sketching. From Monet's garden in France and Casa Milà in Spain to the National Museum of Korea, Bari has opened sketchbooks around the world. Rather than teaching perfect drawing, she shares the joy of recording the moment.
